JOB DESCRIPTION:
● Provide student-centered, differentiated lessons, units, and projects that align with the MA CTE Drafting Frameworks
● Employ various instructional techniques to engage all learners
● Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
● Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals, establish and communicate clear objectives to students for lessons, units, labs, and projects
● Maintain timely record keeping via Power School (student information and grading system) and electronic student competency tracking
● Maintain up-to-date files, including student records
● Maintain classroom management through an understanding and adherence to accepted school policies
● Provide assistance to students serving make-up or detention
● Participate in district professional development activities and school improvement initiatives
● Participate collaboratively in the development of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment
● Provide after-school assistance to students per contract and as needed
● Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
● Foster competition and achievement by supporting Skills
USA activities
● Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director
QUALIFICATIONS::
● Associate's Degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught
● Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to Drafting
● Chapter 74 Drafting License preferred (or the ability/qualifications needed for licensure)
● Ability to maintain student discipline, differentiate instruction, and work with diverse populations
● Possess teaching experience or demonstrable teaching ability
● Demonstration of initiative and willingness to participate in further study as necessary
● Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and administrators
● Willingness to foster strong relationships with students and teachers
● Punctuality, flexibility, strong self-management, and self-initiative skills
● Understanding of vocational practices, procedures, expectations, and the instructional practices that will facilitate students' proficiency in their technical area
