Special Education Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION:

● Provide direct instructional support to students in both inclusive, general education settings and small-group instructional environments.

● Design, implement, and support instructional strategies and curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, while adapting instruction to meet individual student needs.

● Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other specialists to identify student needs, establish learning goals, and develop effective practices that promote student growth and achievement.

● Manage a caseload of students, including monitoring and reporting progress, developing and maintaining Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and communicating regularly with parents/guardians and team members.

● Participate in school-based professional development, meetings, and initiatives that support student success and continuous improvement.

● Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with federal, state, and district requirements.

● Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services and/or Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Massachusetts DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities (Grades 5-12) or eligibility for licensure.

● Ability to collaborate effectively with academic teachers, vocational instructors, and related service providers to support student access to academic and vocational programming.
