JOB DESCRIPTION:
● Provide student-centered, differentiated lessons, units, and projects that
align with the MA CTE Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishings
Frameworks
● Employ various instructional techniques to engage all learners
● Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and
appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
● Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district
curriculum goals; establish and communicate clear objectives to students for
lessons, units, labs, and projects
● Maintain timely record keeping via Power School (student information and
grading system) and electronic student competency tracking
● Maintain up-to-date files, including student records
● Maintain classroom management through an understanding and adherence
to accepted school policies
● Provide assistance to students serving make-up or detention
● Participate in district professional development activities and school
improvement initiatives
● Participate collaboratively in the development of curriculum, instructional
strategies, and assessment
● Provide after-school assistance to students per contract and as needed
● Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the Collective
Bargaining Agreement
● Foster competition and achievement by supporting Skills
USA activities
● Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Possession of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
● Possession of current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in at
least two areas (one of the areas must be "Painting and Refinishing")
● Chapter 74 Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing License preferred (or
the ability/qualifications needed for licensure)
● Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to Automotive
Collision Repair & Refinishing
● Ability to maintain student discipline, differentiate instruction, and work with
diverse populations
● Possess teaching experience or demonstrable teaching ability
● Demonstration of initiative and willingness to participate in further study as
necessary
● Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, administrators,
and families
● Willingness to foster strong relationships with students and teachers
● Punctuality, flexibility, strong self-management, and self-initiative skills
● Understanding of vocational practices, procedures, expectations, and the
instructional practices that will facilitate students' proficiency in their
technical area
