Chapter Drafting Instructor

• Provide student‑centered, differentiated lessons, units, and projects that align with the MA CTE Drafting Frameworks
• Employ various instructional techniques to engage all learners
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals, establishing and communicating clear objectives to students for lessons, units, labs, and projects
• Maintain timely record keeping via Power School (student information and grading system) and electronic student competency tracking
• Maintain up‑to‑date files, including student records
• Maintain classroom management through an understanding and adherence to accepted school policies
• Provide assistance to students serving make‑up or detention
• Participate in district professional development activities and school improvement initiatives
• Collaborate in the development of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment
• Provide after‑school assistance to students per contract and as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Foster competition and achievement by supporting SkillsUSA activities
• Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director

• Associate’s Degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught
• Four years of full‑time employment experience directly related to drafting
• Chapter 74 Drafting License preferred (or the ability/qualifications needed for licensure)
• Ability to maintain student discipline, differentiate instruction, and work with diverse populations
• Demonstrable teaching experience or teaching ability
• Initiative and willingness to participate in further study as necessary
• Effective communication skills with students, teachers, and administrators
• Willingness to foster strong relationships with students and teachers
• Punctuality, flexibility, strong self‑management, and self‑initiative skills
• Understanding of vocational practices, procedures, expectations, and instructional practices that facilitate students’ proficiency in their technical area
