Job DescriptionThe Luce Elementary School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as the Speech and Language Pathologist for the upcoming school year beginning in August 2026
. The Speech and Language Pathologist will join a vibrant and supportive team that places a high priority on collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to the goals of the District and to our students, families and staff.
Luce Elementary School serves over 500 students in grades K-5 and is an inclusive community for all. Job SummaryProvides speech and language therapy treatment to students with identified needs. Administers assessments to determine a student’s level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement in areas such as expressive and receptive language, functional communication, social pragmatics, and articulation.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services and programs within the educational environment through creativity and resourcefulness.
- Supervise, evaluate and support SLPAs, including recruiting, screening, and hiring.
- Coordinate effective therapy presentation techniques, review, correct, and reinforce instructional lessons.
- Serve as a member of the Special Education Team to write educational plans and progress reports, and complete assessments within required timelines.
- Follow the student IEP and ensure compliance with state and federal SPED regulations, delivering high quality services and providing accommodations/modifications.
- Participate in the identification and referral process for students requiring speech services.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication disorders in students.
- Prepare written reports upon completion of an evaluation.
- Attend team meetings, section 504 meetings, and student support process meetings.
- Communicate and collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, and other personnel to provide recommendations for accommodations, modifications, and referrals.
- Develop and implement goals specified in the student’s Individualized Education Program or 504 Accommodation Plan.
- Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals, 504 Plans, and intervention plans.
- Create and coordinate a schedule of services to ensure all IEP requirements are met.
- Assist teams in planning for the implementation of AAC devices, supports, and services across school, home, workplace, and community.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or District administration under the collective bargaining agreement.
- Master’s degree in speech language pathology.
- Valid and current certification and licensure to provide speech language services in MA public schools.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Successful completion of a CORI and fingerprinting background check.
