Job Description
Provide student-centered, differentiated lessons, units, and projects that align with the MA CTE ISSN Frameworks.
Employ various instructional techniques to engage all learners.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals, establishing and communicating clear objectives to students for lessons, units, labs, and projects.
Maintain timely record‑keeping via Power School (student information and grading system) and electronic student competency tracking.
Maintain up-to-date files, including student records.
Maintain classroom management through an understanding and adherence to accepted school policies.
Provide assistance to students serving make‑up or detention.
Participate in district professional development activities and school improvement initiatives.
Participate collaboratively in the development of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment.
Provide after‑school assistance to students per contract and as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Foster competition and achievement by supporting SkillsUSA activities.
Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director.
Qualifications- Associate’s Degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught.
- Chapter 74 ISSN License preferred (or the ability/qualifications needed for licensure).
- Four years of full‑time employment experience directly related to ISSN.
- Ability to maintain student discipline, differentiate instruction, and work with diverse populations.
- Possess teaching experience or demonstrable teaching ability.
- Demonstration of initiative and willingness to participate in further study as necessary.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and administrators.
- Willingness to foster strong relationships with students and teachers.
- Punctuality, flexibility, strong self‑management, and self‑initiative skills.
- Understanding of vocational practices, procedures, expectations, and the instructional practices that will facilitate students’ proficiency in their technical area.
