ABA Tutor

The Canton Public Schools is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as an ABA Tutor for the upcoming school year beginning in August 2026. The ABA Tutor will join a vibrant and supportive team that prioritizes collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to the goals of the District and its students, families and staff.
The Canton Public Schools serves over 3,100 students in grades PreK-12, including our 18‑22 program, cultivating an inclusive community and striving to promote academic growth and social‑emotional learning for every student.
Job SummaryProvide direct implementation of behavior‑analytic services to identified students and maintain a safe, supportive educational environment for all students and staff.
Performance Responsibilities- Collect and maintain data on student performance and behavior and collaborate with the BCBA and educators on student progress
- Implement behavior‑analytic tasks as outlined by the supervising BCBA
- Assist classroom or specialist teachers as needed
- Work with one or more students on educational tasks as assigned by the BCBA or teacher
- Provide supervision of students during instructional activities and transitions
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and refer to the classroom teacher if problems arise
- Accept work assignments with any designated student(s) in the classroom
- Assist the supervising teacher in establishing and maintaining reasonable behavior and performance standards
- Escort students to and from transportation safely as directed by the BCBA or teacher during work hours
- Assist the BCBA or teacher in collecting data on student performance, goals, and behavior
- Communicate all student accidents or incidents to the BCBA or teacher and administrator promptly
- Complete mandated reporting for behavioral incidents such as time‑outs and restraints
- Follow individual student safety plans, IEPs, 504s, behavior plans, healthcare plans, and attend TEAM meetings when requested
- Work with students in varied settings (small group, classroom, recess, lunch, transitions, field trips, assemblies, specialist areas, etc.)
- Make independent, sound judgments "in the moment"
- Participate in regular professional development, including de‑escalation training, during contractual hours
- Be prepared for exposure to physical contact and/or bodily fluids
- Assist students with activities of daily living as needed (feeding, toileting, etc.)
- Perform other duties or tasks as specifically articulated within the collective bargaining agreement
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
