The Canton Public Schools is looking for part-time elementary tutor to work with Grades K-5 elementary students who are multilingual learners and require extra classroom support and intervention. The tutor schedule is anticipated to be 4 days/week totaling between 16-19.5 total hours per week beginning inlate September through late May.

Preferred candidates will have familiarity with multilingual learners WIDA levels and associated skills, and scaffolds that support English language learners. Tutor swill support students in the classroom setting using district provided high quality, evidence based materials. Tutors will be required to keep notes on student progress and will participate in writing brief progress reports for students on their caseload.

Qualified candidates will:

• Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to educational equity and instructional excellence

• Create lesson plans, aligned with current state and district standards, which drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiation
• Provide consistent, immediate feedback on student learning and ask analytical questions that elicit students' responses that incorporate prior knowledge, life experience and interests that are directly related to the content objective
• Collaborate with colleagues and administration in analyzing data in order to positively impact student learning
• Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
• Possess a growth mindset and openness to different approaches to learning
• Bring enthusiasm and excitement to learning math
• Possess effective communication skills
• Deliver small group instruction

Additional Requirements:

• MA Elementary Certification preferred
• SEI Endorsement preferred
• Familiarity withML Learners
• Experience interpreting WIDA levels and associated skills
• Familiarity with the Massachusetts Math Curriculum Frameworks

Hourly rate: starting at $33.31
