Opportunity Overview
Substation Commissioning Manager of Renewable Energy. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2).
Location:
We will provide the onsite location diem available.
To work on behalf of the project Owner as a Commissioning Manager on a portfolio of renewable energy (wind, solar, battery storage). You will be responsible for execution of assigned renewable power plant projects and teams as it relates to commissioning, start up and operational turnover.
Reports To:
Project Manager / Commissioning Director
- Ensure assigned projects' commissioning activities are performed with high quality and follow all safety policies.
- Coordinate and manage EPC contractor personnel, OEM start up personnel, third‑party start up contractors, and operations personnel on site, as it relates to site commissioning and startup.
- Ensure project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time in initial operation.
- Ensure compliance with all project contractual documents to include Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utility.
- Ensure Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators make the interface to ensure project energization dates are achieved.
- Manage Client's onsite commissioning personnel.
- Work with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties.
- Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA.
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting.
- E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting.
- Review drawings quality control inspection and Progress reporting.
- Outlook, PDF edit Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), document control systems and PowerPoint.
- Manage third parties and suppliers.
- Manage direct report team members.
- Schedule and planning understanding.
- 6+ years of experience in on‑site project support for renewable power generation project construction start‑up and commissioning.
- 3+ years minimum experience working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction start‑up and commissioning.
- Track record and ability to work with engineering personnel on technical issues.

Base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $55.00/hr to $60.00/hr.
