Designer; electric distribution projects

Designer (electric distribution projects) – onsite position based in Phillips, Wisconsin 54555. Hybrid schedule: in‑office Tues‑Thurs, remote Mon and Fri. 6‑month contract (W‑2). You will manage design and project management for electric distribution projects for new and existing customers, including customer interaction, field assessments, and system design using GE Small world GIS. Tasks: transformer sizing, underground cable routing, and pole placement. Team: 5 electric designers, 3 service designers, 2 gas designers.

• Check SAP for new customer contacts.
• Field visits or computer‑based design work.
• Weekly scheduling meetings (Mon/Tues) and team touchpoints (Thurs).
• Support electric side and collaborate with service/gas designers.
• Support external customers (residential and commercial).
• Collaborative office environment with idea sharing.
• Mix of field and office work; field work includes visits to residential, commercial, and construction sites.
• 30% field work (field assessments).

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic electrical knowledge or background.
• Experience with GIS/AutoCAD is a plus but not required.
• Ability to draw on multiple backgrounds (construction, call center, police).
• Experience in electrical or utility fields is a plus.
• Will use personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

Competitive pay: base salary range $28.00/hr. to $33.00/hr, dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills.
