BESS Senior Project manager Consultant

About the role:

We are looking for a BESS Senior PM Consultant on behalf of our client. This is a 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2). You will be responsible for daily project coordination involving internal and external resources that support multiple activities, including Development, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Construction. These activities span from pre‑construction (Early Stage) up to the point of Construction. The focus is on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects within the Engineering and Construction Business Unit (E&C).

You will focus not on a single project, but on all projects at varying stages. The current portfolio spans the United States and Canada. Occasional travel may be required to visit assigned project locations and support Development with local public hearings.

• Coordinate matrixed project development teams to ensure resources focus on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedule.
• Coordinate with environmental, regulatory, cultural, land acquisition, and interconnection stakeholders to ensure all project variables are identified and incorporated.
• Improve project variables to enhance technical and financial feasibility.
• Support origination and development teams with PPA and GIA negotiations.
• Coordinate engineering, estimating, and procurement requirements.
• Support the E&C cost‑estimating team in developing financial models.
• Present financial models to respective business unit(s) and manage the models through executive budget approvals.
• Competitively source, negotiate, and implement commercial contracts for critical services including geotechnical, survey, engineering, and EPC/PC construction services.
• Uphold and represent E&C’s interests on assigned projects.
• Deliver regular presentations/briefings on current progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with multiple levels of management.
• Ensure seamless hand‑off of projects moving to the Construction stage to the Construction Project Manager with an inclusive and executable construction plan.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.

The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $35.00/hr to $40.00/hr, based on experience, qualifications, and skills.
