Position Location: This role is a hybrid remote/in-office position. It supports the Canton, MA branch location, serving customers in the greater Boston area.
Position Summary: The Energy Engineer conducts facility site visits, analyzes current conditions, and produces plans for Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs). The role assists sales and operations in developing, procuring, and executing performance contracts.
Responsibilities- Perform and lead existing building commissioning and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify FIMs and opportunities.
- Participate in pre‑sale activities, working closely with Sales to technically qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency and coordinate with operations teams and outside vendors for FIM development.
- Analyze blueprints, conduct site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems, determine operational characteristics, and apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load models.
- Perform industry‑standard energy calculations (e.g., weather‑based BIN calculations) and develop design concepts and schematics detailing recommended FIMs, scope of work descriptions, sequences of operations, code deficiency evaluations, savings potential, cost estimates, and verification data.
- Prepare financial models including ROI, life‑cycle costs, and internal rate of return, and collaborate with the Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions as part of Siemens Digitalization Strategy.
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Energy Manager or Professional Engineer certification.
- 3+ years of energy industry experience supporting performance‑based projects or energy services.
- Experience with ASHRAE standard energy calculations.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license with limited violations, and be eligible for Siemens' fleet vehicle program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Commissioning Professional certification.
- 7+ years of experience supporting performance‑based projects or energy services.

The pay range is $73,756 – $126,439 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary; actual wage may vary.
