Mechanical Design Engineer
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Designer or Drafter to spearhead the physical packaging of medical device electronics. In this role, you will take ownership of projects from concept to final assembly, ensuring robust packaging for power supplies, amplifiers, and magnetic components. You will work closely within a tight-knit engineering team to design compliant, high-quality medical products.
Key responsibilities include owning the mechanical design process from start to finish with minimal supervision, creating detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Solid Works, packaging complex medical electronics, including high-power supplies and amplifiers, modeling custom magnetic components, such as inductors and transformers, building, testing, and refining physical prototypes using 3D printing and hands-on techniques, supporting quality and regulatory compliance by maintaining proper design history files, and collaborating daily and communicating clearly within a small product design team.
Qualifications and experience include a degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design, 3+ years of professional experience in a mechanical design role, extensive proficiency with Solid Works CAD software, strong background in electronics packaging, specifically power electronics, proven experience modeling magnetics, familiarity with medical device design controls or regulatory standards, experience with 3D printing for rapid medical prototyping, familiarity with machine shop tools, and strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
