Lead Project Estimator
This is a 1‑year contract (W‑2) assignment located in Juno Beach, FL 33408, reporting to the Manager – Project Estimating. It involves occasional travel to project sites for meetings, inspections, and collaboration with on‑site teams.
About the RoleAs Lead Project Estimator, you will develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for multiple energy projects, ensuring alignment on goals and optimizing project costs and performance. Daily responsibilities include leading and preparing estimates, developing pricing models, and evaluating new technological innovations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of detailed project cost estimates, including conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates for new and existing projects.
- Perform conceptual engineering design and develop preliminary construction plans to support estimating scope quantification.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
- Perform value engineering analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimating processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to account for potential project uncertainties.
- Present cost estimates and value engineering options to senior management, project stakeholders, and clients.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure the best value for the company.
- Track project costs and variances throughout the project lifecycle, updating estimates to reflect changes in scope, design, or market conditions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project estimating, with a focus on conceptual engineering and project design.
- Experience in utility‑scale energy projects, including renewable energy, power generation, and transmission infrastructure.
- Proficiency in value engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in project estimating and cost management.
Competitive pay: $91.00/hr to $96.00/hr, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
