About the rolePipeline Engineer

Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the design of high‑pressure steel natural gas pipelines for the Feeder‑Line Replacement program, ensuring all analysis, installation, commissioning, operability, and integrity regulatory requirements and company standards are met or exceeded, including Code of Federal Regulations Part 192.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and design support for pipeline routing and layout.
- Determine block and tap valve placement and design pipeline crossings for rivers, interstates, and highways using open‑dig or trenchless methods.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Perform engineering analyses of pipeline stress, considering internal pressure, external loads, thermal expansion, soil loads, seismic effects, and more.
- Specify pipe materials and coatings, procure materials, and prepare documentation (calculations, forms, checklists).
- Track project schedules, monitor budgets, and develop pressure test procedures.
- Support commissioning activities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design drafting, right‑of‑way agents, cathodic protection engineers, environmental specialists).
- Report to a supervisor or manager.
A bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering from an accredited college and 4–7 years of relevant experience are required. Candidates should have foundational knowledge of high‑pressure steel pipeline materials and construction practices, strong computer skills (proficiency with Microsoft Office, communication tools, and engineering analysis software), and excellent communication abilities.
