Opportunity Overview
Part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions. PGD-Engineer (Power Generation & Delivery Engineer) based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2). You must have diversified engineering knowledge applicable to solar power generation and be able to make independent decisions regarding engineering issues and processes. Reports to the Onsite Manager.

CWE/ROCC Process Improvements
- Develop and refine troubleshooting guides for top fault codes across all inverter technologies
- Develop fault code database and Do Not Reset (DNR) lists
- Use AI to create troubleshooting guides and apply engineering principles to datasets to combine information
- Serve as primary technical liaison between Solar Inverter Fleet Team, ROCC, and CWE, acting independently on technical matters
- Complete process improvement assignments with broad terms, general goals, and limitations
- Work with individuals and OEMs within and outside the organization on technical matters regarding individual projects
Solar Inverter Team
- Support component failure rate analysis and development of work plans
- Become a subject matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer
- Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites
- Assist field technicians and ROCC operators with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues
- Help develop countermeasures for recurring issues
- Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in other engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems
- 6+ years of engineering experience
- Utility-scale inverter and power electronics experience
- Ability to work with operations teams
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred
- 2 years of experience with solar inverters
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
- Previous experience in operations support or control center environments
Base salary range is estimated to be $45.00/hr to $50.00/hr, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
