Utilization Management Specialist

Overview

Employer Industry: Healthcare Services

• Receive information regarding inpatient admissions from physicians and hospitals via telephone or fax
• Perform data entry into the system in accordance with department documentation standards
• Generate and process daily reports, letters, and discharge logs
• Coordinate with Care Management to ensure timely updates to admission records
• Assist with documentation of workflows and procedures while cross-training co-workers

• 2-3 years of experience in Utilization Management or Care Management within a managed care setting
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
• Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

• Experience with Case Trakker, eCare, Jiva, or MedHOK systems
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards related to utilization management
