Role Description

The Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role located in Canton, MA. This role is responsible for scheduling and coordinating crane, rigging, and trucking operations, ensuring that equipment and crews are assigned effectively to meet customer and project requirements. Day-to-day tasks include receiving and confirming job requests, creating and adjusting daily dispatch schedules, and communicating with drivers, operators, and field personnel throughout the day.

The Dispatcher maintains accurate records of assignments, tracks job status, and provides timely updates to customers and internal teams. The role also involves handling phone and email inquiries, resolving scheduling conflicts, supporting safety and compliance procedures, and collaborating with management to optimize resource utilization.

Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with drivers, operators, customers, and internal teams by phone, email, and in person.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and dispatch or scheduling software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting schedules, job information, and equipment assignments.
  • Problem-solving skills to address last-minute changes, conflicts, and unexpected operational issues.
  • Knowledge of trucking, construction, or crane operations is preferred; prior dispatch or logistics coordination experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site daily, remain calm under pressure, and make sound decisions with limited information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in logistics, transportation, or related fields is beneficial.
