BSC Industries Inc is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support our wholesale industrial distribution business in power transmission, bearings, motion control, and automation products. You will source and purchase products from approved suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage inventory levels to support OEM and MRO customers across New England. Responsibilities include issuing and tracking purchase orders, monitoring lead times, resolving delivery or quality issues, and collaborating with sales, operations, and engineering to meet customer requirements.

You will analyze usage and demand trends, optimize stock levels, and help maintain accurate data in ERP systems. Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase industrial power transmission, bearings, motion control, and automation products from approved suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost, quality, and service targets
  • Create, issue, and track purchase orders; ensure accurate item, price, and delivery information in ERP systems
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and on-time delivery; resolve discrepancies, shortages, and quality issues
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and engineering to understand customer demand and product requirements
  • Analyze usage, demand trends, and safety stock to optimize inventory levels and reduce stockouts and excess
  • Maintain accurate product, vendor, and pricing data to support quoting, order fulfillment, and forecasting
  • Support new product introductions and supplier transitions in coordination with internal teams
  • Identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities within the purchasing and supply chain function
  • Contribute to a customer-focused, team-oriented culture through clear communication and collaboration
