About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support protein production and structural biology operations at our Canton site. This is a hands-on role central to our structure-enabled discovery engine. You will contribute directly to rapid experimental turnaround by enabling high-quality protein supply, supporting crystallization workflows, and maintaining robust experiment tracking and data integrity. This role is ideal for an RA who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building reliable workflows, and wants to grow deeper into Structural Biology.
Responsibilities- Protein Production
:
Execute routine protein expression, purification, QC, and documentation (e.g., PCR, ÄKTA/FPLC chromatography, SDS-PAGE) to support structural studies. - Crystallization & Structural Biology Operations
:
Perform high-throughput crystallization setup and follow-up (plate setup, monitoring/scoring, optimization, crystal handling) following stablished protocols and optimizations plans - Data, Tracking & Process Ownership
:
Maintains accurate sample/experiment tracking and database updates, including protein lot traceability, crystallization condition logs, crystal inventory, and maintains detailed electronic lab notebooks. - Collaboration & Communication
:
Works cross-functionally with structural biologists and medicinal chemists to communicate progress and timelines, raise questions or issues for discussion with senior team members in a fast-paced discovery environment.
- BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, or a related field, with 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with molecular cloning,
protein purification and chromatography workflows (PCR/ÄKTA/FPLC strongly preferred). - Strong experimental rigor, organization, and attention to detail, follow established protocols, identify basic issues, and seek guidance when needed.
- Thrive in a fast-moving environment and work collaboratively across teams.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Experience with protein crystallization and/or structural biology workflows.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication and time management skills
