Professional Electrical Contractors is seeking a motivated and skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team. If you have experience installing, servicing, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems and take pride in delivering quality work, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities- Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial facilities
- Perform inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
- Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm system faults, wiring issues, and device failures
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
- Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and required records accurately
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and company standards
- Mentor and assist apprentices and junior technicians as needed
- Stay current with industry technologies, certifications, and code requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience with fire alarm installation, service, inspection, or maintenance
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire and life safety codes
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
- Ability to pass a drug screening (excluding THC)
- Ability to pass a security background check
- Valid Massachusetts Electrician License (Willingness to obtain additional New England state licenses based on geographic work requirements)
- Manufacturer certifications related to fire alarm systems
