Salary Range: $16.00 - $18.00 Hourly
Position SummaryClothing Aide is responsible for support functions within the Clothing department and reports to the Clothing Supervisor. The position requires a driver’s license and involves driving. It is an hourly, non‑exempt full‑time position with typical hours 8:30am–5:00pm, though shifts may vary. Overtime may be required on short notice.
Essential Duties- Learn about JRC students/clients, their disabilities, and the forms of treatment provided at JRC.
- Take responsibility for the safety and welfare of JRC students/clients.
- Understand the gravity of responsibility for safety and care and perform duties diligently.
- Perform clothing checks on students/clients before and after home visits to inventory items taken home and ensure all clothing belongs to that student/client.
- Evaluate staff for not following established JRC procedures concerning clothing and student dress code.
- Deliver student/client non‑clothing items to their case manager for distribution to the proper residence.
- Move the student’s/client’s items from one residence to another while completing an inventory of items moved.
- Run miscellaneous errands including dropping off and picking up items from school and residences.
- Pick up and drop off laundry to all residences without laundry facilities.
- Report abuse to JRC and appropriate agencies.
- Ship clothing to students’/clients’ home.
- Enter/deleting items into student database.
- Perform any other duties requested by supervisor and assist with students/clients as necessary.
- Read posts on the Discussion Board and post a minimum of 1 message per 2 weeks.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
- Ability to function well under constant deadlines.
- Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Exhibit respect for and consistently observe confidentiality of this position/department.
- Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in English.
- 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20 with corrective lenses.
- Stand and walk for at least 80% of the work day.
- Sit for at least 20% of the work day.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Involves kneeling, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, crawling, and handling during the treatment process.
- Lift up to 200 lbs. with assistance.
- Possess normal depth perception and color vision.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Six months to three years experience in a non‑profit educational‑residential program preferred.
- Stamina and physical endurance for elongated business days and exceedingly demanding business schedule.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to function with moderate supervision.
- Familiar with PC software/hardware for word processing/databases.
