Position: Day Receiver

Warehouse Receiver

This position is a critical support role for the Warehouse Team. As a Warehouse Receiver you are responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments of products. This role ensures that all goods are in perfect condition, verifies shipment information, and maintains accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Principal responsibilities include unloading incoming shipments from trucks using appropriate equipment, inspecting shipments for damage, discrepancies, or defects, verifying the quantity and quality of received products against purchase orders and packing lists, recording and updating inventory information in the warehouse management system, labeling and storing received items in their designated locations, assisting in periodic inventory counts and reconciliation, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, following all company safety policies and procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, maintaining accurate records of received goods, preparing and submitting daily receiving reports to the Receiving Supervisor, assisting in preparing documents for audits and inspections, coordinating with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate receiving of goods, communicating any issues or discrepancies with the Receiving Supervisor and relevant departments, keeping the receiving area clean and organized, assisting with other warehouse tasks, such as picking, packing, and shipping orders, as needed, participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations, and performing other duties as assigned by the warehouse manager or other supervisors.

Required skills include being open to work overtime when needed, willingness and ability to learn new procedures and adapt to change, ability to operate multiple MHE:
Forklift/Order Picker/Pallet Jack, ability to self-manage daily work, strong organizational skills, willingness to work in extreme cold environments for prolonged periods of time, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to multi-task, while planning the time, method, manner and/or performance sequence of own work, strong math skills, ability and willingness to complete some moderately repetitive tasks, ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Education/experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, previous experience in warehouse receiving, preferably in the food industry, forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification, strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods, basic computer skills, including familiarity with warehouse management systems, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm Hourly Rate: $22.50

Working conditions and physical demands include indoor/cooler office environment, exposure to room temperature, freezer temperature, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment, the work environment can be noisy due to the movement of equipment and vehicles in the yard/warehouse, individuals may need to sit or stand as needed, may require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day, reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, proper lifting techniques are required, and may include lifting to 50 pounds on occasion.
