We are seeking a detailed-oriented Site Safety Coordinator to help support a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. In this role, you will work closely with site superintendents, project managers, and contractors to promote best safety practices.
Responsibilities- Work with project team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and/or procedures.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with incident, near-miss, and injury investigations, including documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, permits, and required documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 standards.
- Provide daily observations of on-site safety practices.
- Coordinate and perform safety meetings, safety orientation, and training.
- Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.
- Aid in the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and/or illnesses.
- Monitor use of personal protective equipment and support adherence to site-specific requirements.
- Partner with supervisors and employees to reinforce safe work practices and address concerns promptly.
- Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
- Previous experience in workplace safety, environmental health and safety, compliance, or a related operational role is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, hazard recognition, incident investigation, and corrective action processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
- Ability to document findings clearly and maintain accurate records.
- Comfortable conducting site walks, speaking with employees, and addressing safety concerns professionally.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing site needs.
- Additional education in occupational safety, environmental health, or a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual preferred. (English and Spanish)
- Experience supporting safety programs in an onsite, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, construction, or similar environment.
- Familiarity with safety training delivery and employee engagement initiatives.
- Knowledge of incident tracking systems, audit processes, or compliance reporting tools.
- Professional certifications such as OSHA-related training or other safety credentials are a plus.
