Operations is at the heart of Amazon’s business. Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) partners to maintain all of the Robotics and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure customer satisfaction. We drive continuous improvement and support the Operations Maintenance team in keeping automated packaging and distribution equipment running.
About the RoleAs a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will also mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Selection Process (RME - Mechatronics & Robotics Technicians)Timeframe: approximately 30 days. Steps may include:
- Application submission and review by Amazon Recruiting.
- Pre-employment assessment for qualified candidates.
- Criteria assessment invitation (5 days to complete).
- Video interview invitation (7 days to record).
- Hiring team review and next steps communicated by email (within 5 business days).
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance with proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on MHE (belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, etc.).
- Maintain positive working relationships across the Amazon Operations facility.
- Demonstrate physical capability to move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk up to 12 hours, climb ladders/gangways, and perform bending, lifting, and reaching as required.
Note:
Shift assignments are subject to operational requirements and may not be guaranteed.
- High school or equivalent diploma.
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Flexible schedule/shift including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Certification from Amazon’s Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program, or 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience.
- 2+ years of predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience.
- 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
- 2+ years of safety standards experience.
- 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE).
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
- 2+ years of electrical and electronic principles experience.
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical.
- 2+ years of Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship experience.

CompensationThe starting pay for this position includes base pay plus applicable shift differential. Additional earnings may include overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on shift selection and location. Amazon offers Day 1 benefits including EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, and 401(k) matching.
