Description
As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life‑cycle support to AWS data centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the go‑to engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, engaging with diverse teams to solve complex technical problems.
- Conduct root cause analysis and create corrective action documentation for site/equipment failures.
- Support operational issues through ad‑hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support.
- Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades, adding capacity, improving availability, and increasing efficiency and sustainability.
- Interface with internal teams (operations, design engineering, server hardware, environmental health & safety) to promote consistent standards.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
- Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, including on‑site visits. Produce risk reports with recommended mitigations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning‑specific education courses.
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience with the design, construction, operation or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Experience using web‑based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.

The base salary range for this position is 86,900.00 – USD annually. Amazon also offers sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), 401(k) matching, paid time off and parental leave. For more on benefits, visit .
