As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life‑cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the “go‑to” engineering resource for your region, applying subject‑matter expertise to troubleshoot, conduct root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions for site and equipment failures. You will deliver design solutions that add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency, and promote sustainability while collaborating closely with operations, design, hardware, and safety teams.

• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and creation of corrective action documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Provide operational issue support via ad‑hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews.
• Own conceptual design for existing data‑center upgrades and design solutions that increase capacity, availability, and sustainability.
• Interface with internal teams—operations, design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety—to promote consistent, reliable services.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits, including on‑site visits and risk assessment reports with remediation recommendations.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Daily activities involve prioritizing actions that impact data‑center capacity, availability, and safety. You will interact with diverse teams to support local and global projects, balancing office tasks with fieldwork.

• Strong engineering judgment with the ability to recommend solutions amid uncertainty.
• Detail‑oriented, data‑driven mindset.
• Experience solving problems with engineered solutions.
• Experience managing engineering projects and external consultants.
• Ability to build trust and relationships across stakeholders—Operations, Controls, Construction, Design, Commissioning, Product Management, and Technical Program Management.
• Adaptable and willing to work in the field.
• Comfortable with a mix of office and field work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning‑specific education courses.
• Knowledge of critical data‑center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission‑critical facilities, especially data centers.

• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region.
• Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Experience using web‑based and other software tools for calculations and data processing.

Salary Range: $86,900.00 – $ USD annually
