Job OverviewAs an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life‑cycle support to AWS data centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the go‑to engineering resource for your region, using subject‑matter expertise to troubleshoot, conduct root‑cause analysis, design solutions, support operations, conduct audits, and serve as resident engineer during construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide full life‑cycle support and design solutions for existing data center upgrades.
- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action documentation for site/equipment failures.
- Support operational issues through ad‑hoc training, procedure reviews, and event support.
- Interface with internal teams to maintain consistent and reliable services.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
- Manage concurrent projects across multiple regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, report risks, and recommend mitigations and remediation.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.
As an ideal candidate you:
- Possess strong engineering judgement, data‑oriented and detail‑oriented.
- Have experience solving problems with engineered solutions.
- Have experience managing engineering projects and consultants.
- Build trust and relationships with stakeholders across Operations, Controls, Construction, Design, Commissioning, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers.
- Are adaptable and willing to get into the field.
- Are excited about a mix of office and field work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning‑specific education courses.
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission‑critical facilities, especially data centers.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power or mechanical systems.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Experience using web‑based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
The base salary range for this position is $86,900.00 to $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
