Data Center Manager

Overview

This role leads teams in hardware and network diagnostics and repair within a 24/7 data center environment. The candidate manages day‑to‑day operations, assigns tickets, develops career paths, and leads on‑call rotations. The position is scheduled primarily for night shifts with possible adjustments. Strong organizational, communication, and rapid‑reaction skills are essential.

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage the performance of a diverse team of data center operation professionals across multiple locations
• Develop and update career paths and internal tools for employees
• Recruit, train, and maintain appropriate staffing levels for data center technicians
• Ensure efficient day‑to‑day data center operations including queue management and 24/7 shift arrangement
• Act as a subject matter expert across all aspects of data center operations
• Measure and meet all operational KPIs and metrics
• Drive continuous improvement in team processes, technology innovation, and automation
• Lead large‑scale events (outsages) and manage on‑call schedule, coordinating absences and vacations
• Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations
• Recommend, document, and enforce policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs
• Maintain high quality of service and continuously enhance customer experience

• 2+ years of data center, network engineering, or systems engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment

• 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repair
• Experience in technical writing in a relevant field
• Relevant certifications such as CCENT, Network+, or CCNA
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends
