NW Deployment Planner I, GND - Planning, Implementation, Coordination (PIC) Team

Amazon Data Services, Inc. owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous customer access to the cloud.

As a Network Deployment Planner, you will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to the local data center installation & deployment technicians, ensuring smooth capacity execution across multiple data center locations.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, continuously seeking improvement.
  • Collaborate with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers and Technical Project Manager teams to facilitate fast, smooth delivery of on‑demand customer capacity.
  • Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types.
  • Implement cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Understand common networking terms and concepts.
  • Exercise excellent judgement and analytical skills; prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
  • Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule and construction milestones.
  • Apply core project management disciplines—scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management—while staying organized under time pressure.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
  • Experience in project management.
  • At least 1 year of relevant discipline work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
