AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

The position’s responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.

You will leverage your experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of AWS’ vast network infrastructure, Network Deploy Technicians establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with the ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed.
  • Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Troubleshooting networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and cables.
  • Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
  • Participating in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.

Traveling within and outside the regional work area is required. You must have a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license, as company transportation will not be provided.

A Day in the Life
  • Provide the first‑level networking devices to serve our customer racks. Track network rack intake and delivery, work with onsite teams to request rack space, power, and cooling, and partner with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready. Perform link and device troubleshooting within a defined service‑level agreement.
  • Handle console builds (and room builds) to expand space and capacity for customer racks.
  • Work with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
  • Basic Qualifications
    • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
    • 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Experience in computer networking.
    • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
    • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
    • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Can work in cramped spaces or at elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
    • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
    • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
    • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
    • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
    • Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+) or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering).
    • Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test‑net connection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, and packet capture tools).
    • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
