Position Overview
AWS is seeking a Network Deploy Technician to support and expand its global network infrastructure. The role operates with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment, focusing on stability, sustainability, automation, and scaling of next‑generation networks.
Key Responsibilities- Scale support for multiple data center locations and handle day‑to‑day capacity management.
- Collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution under Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
- Leverage experience in enterprise‑class network implementation and troubleshooting.
- Execute network rack intake and delivery, coordinate power, cooling, and configuration with on‑site teams.
- Perform console builds, room builds, and build higher‑level networking devices with ‑Scaling peers.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues (patch panels, patch cords, etc.).
- Specify power and cooling requirements and complete hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
- Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in 24/7 environments and rotate as a primary responder, providing after‑hours support as needed.
- Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, gangways safely.
Travel within and outside the regional work area is required. A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license are necessary; company transportation will not be provided.
Basic Qualifications- 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Comfortable working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience managing work and priorities via a ticketing system.
- Proficiency with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking/stacking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
- Industry‑standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+), or relevant field experience.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test‑netconnection, tracert, iperf, dig, packet capture tools).
- Knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP(S), DNS, TCP/IP).
