Network Install Technician, AWS Opportunity for Military Community

This position is open to U.S. citizens who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, Reserves, National Guard, and service member spouses. You will work on network infrastructure for AWS data centers, installing and maintaining cabling, equipment, and ensuring safety and security compliance.

• Move and implement large enterprise equipment.
• Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cabling between equipment.
• Maintain proper safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation.
• Follow established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities.
• Use material handling tools and equipment safely.
• Travel within and outside the regional work area as required.

• Lift or move up to 40 pounds regularly; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work in a 24/7 environment with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
• Operate in cramped, elevated, and noisy settings.
• Stand, walk, bend, lift, stretch, reach, and carry for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.

• Travel or commute to data center locations (over or under 50 miles) as needed.
• Willingness to work temporarily at alternative sites during training or until assigned facility is operational.
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and facility status.

• Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
• At least 18 months experience in data center, critical environment, or similar technical roles (Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations).
• At least 18 months experience with network cabling, optical types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, OTDR, etc.).

• Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering).
• Certifications such as CCENT, Network+, CCNA.
• Experience with behavioral interviewing and hiring.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends.
