Data Center Operations Manager, Data Center Ops (DCO)

As a Data Center Manager in Amazon, you will get to manage the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. You will be a proven manager with experience managing teams of high performers and the ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence. You will have previous experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both), with exposure to developing strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Job Responsibilities- Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
- Maintaining existing Data Centers.
- Helping build and bring online new Data Centers.
- Constantly improving all processes and procedures.
- Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaising with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensuring adherence to and exceeding local Health & Safety standards.
- Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of Data Centers and utilizing those metrics to drive positive changes.
- Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and all their servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. We collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing extensive capacity at the lowest possible cost.
BasicQualifications
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
- 3+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities.
- 5+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repair.
- 2+ years of data center experience.
- Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
- Experience conducting interviews and making hiring decisions.
The base salary range for this position is $96,900.00 – $ USD annually. The total compensation package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
