Data Center Technician , DCC Communities; AWS

Overview

Data Center Technician – maintain and support hardware, networking, and server infrastructure in AWS data centers worldwide. Requires on‑call rotation and participation in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.

• Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, and routine server and operating system repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability.
• Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, developers, vendors, and contractors.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational analysis.
• Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
• Work in an industrial environment, including shifts longer than eight hours to support 24/7 operations.
• Travel to or commute between data center locations as required, including temporary assignments to facilities under development.

• Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
• Working in cramped or elevated locations.
• Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
• Standing and walking for up to eight hours a day.
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.

• Ability to travel over 50 miles or commute within 50 miles to active data center sites as needed.
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites for training or until assigned facility is operational.

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience in computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
• 18+ months of Layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

• Experience working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Customer‑focused problem resolution skills and ability to perform under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Knowledge of cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field.
• Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
• Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems.
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
• Experience in training and onboarding new team members.

Base salary range: 27.00 – 48.00 USD hourly (USA, MS, Canton). Your Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
