Electrician - Foreman

Direct and supervise the planning, lay‑out, installation, testing and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of the craft workers under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently. In addition, must have all necessary tools (see Electrician tool list).

• Perform principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers.
• Lead and support all safety related processes and programs.
• Engage with the work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries.
• Understand scheduling, material control and unit man‑hour performance reporting.
• Become familiar with the Field Progress Management System (FPMS).
• Create and execute a one‑week schedule and set crew goals based on project unit rates.
• Review crew timecards for correct hours and phase coding.
• Report all accidents and near misses to the supervisor and participate in investigation processes.
• Lead, complete, and sign off on daily pre‑job safety planning.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or mitigate hazards.
• Ensure all crew members understand, participate and sign all pre‑job safety planning tools at the start and end of shift.
• Respond appropriately to safety hazards and warning devices (e.g., backup alarms, smell of smoke, warning tags, sirens).
• Implement lockout/tagout procedures and attend site‑specific training.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; perform accurate basic arithmetic.
• Listen to employees, evaluate concerns, and devise and implement action plans.
• Coordinate work with other crafts and co‑workers on the job.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and safety practice instruction.
• Plan tasks to safely and efficiently carry out all aspects of that work assigned.
• Ensure adequate supply of tools, materials and equipment.
• Gain a complete understanding of the scope of work, specifications and schedule.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans and schedules.
• Participate in quantity report collection on a daily/weekly basis.
• Ensure employees produce quality work meeting specifications and industry standards.
• Inspect subordinate’s work for compliance and take corrective action.
• Observe installed equipment/functionality to identify hazards and needed adjustments.
• Examine field conditions, identify problems and cost‑saving measures.
• Complete performance reviews of craft workers per Craft Performance Assessment (CPA) Guidelines.

Previous experience as a supervisor. One or more of the following certifications:
State Electrical License; NCCER Electrical; NCCER Electrical and Instrumentation Technician; NCCER Pipeline Electrical and Instrumentation Technician; NCCER Project Supervision.

At least 5 years of experience working as an electrician or similar craft or a combination of experience and training. A strong working knowledge of the electrical craft. Must be a highly qualified journeyman electrician with working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Should have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed. Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for the members of his/her crew.

In addition, must have all necessary tools (see Electrician tool list). Must be at least 18 years of age. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
