The Data Center Global Controls team seeks a Controls Technician to support the Service & Construction of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) within Amazon data centers. The role requires expertise in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining field sensors, controllers, wiring, networking, and programming associated with industrial controls systems.

• Deploy, service, and upgrade BMS and EPMS systems across multiple data centers.
• Mentor and train facilities staff on BMS and EPMS operation and control.
• Audit, maintain, and manage computer enterprise asset management systems for BMS and EPMS installations.
• Manage small to medium‑sized projects and programs.
• Perform point‑to‑point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
• Execute first‑line diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of programming code and hardware for BMS and EPMS in data centers.
• Provision servers, controllers, industrial PCs, and network configurations; test communication between third‑party devices and controllers or servers.
• Install, replace, configure, and calibrate sensors.
• Read and understand electrical schematics and control panel drawings; apply basic knowledge of closed‑loop controls, sensor scaling, and industrial controller functions.
• Supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors for wiring and installation of field devices in compliance with AWS requirements.
• Support commissioning and system‑level testing.
• Create red‑lined drawings and documentation of systems.
• Follow change‑management processes to generate work requests and method of procedures.
• Participate in vendor or panel builder facility factory‑witnessed tests.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
• Recommend design improvements based on user consultation and system operation.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis during testing and commissioning.
• Ensure all personnel on site use proper safety methodology.
• Work on‑call and on a rotating schedule when required; respond to after‑hours emergencies.
• Monitor and review ticketing systems, conduct root‑cause analysis, and prioritize tasks.
• Actively manage service agreements, including vendor labor scheduling, quality assurance, and invoice review.

• Walk job sites on uneven terrain and work at heights from ladders.
• Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Lift or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts up to 50 pounds or more.

A typical day involves attending morning construction/commissioning meetings, prioritizing project tasks and service tickets, configuring controllers, testing sensors, troubleshooting, performing safety site walks, and logging daily efforts in AWS tools.

The base salary range for this position is 77,500.00 –  USD annually (USA, MS, Canton). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. • High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field with 4 years of relevant industrial controls or HVAC controls experience, or 6 years of such experience in lieu of a degree.
• Basic understanding of industrial controls systems, knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, relays, and troubleshooting using standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment in a data center, hospital, large commercial complex, water, power, oil & gas, or similar industry.
