Position: Now Hiring Carpenters in Canton, MS

Job Title: Journeyman Carpenter

Location:Canton, MS

Job Type: Full-Time + Per diem ($90/Daily) if out of 50 mi radius.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Journeyman Carpenter
to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and construction plans.
  • Perform accurate layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, and installation of materials.
  • Construct, install, and repair walls, partitions, framing, doors, windows, and other building components.
  • Build and install concrete forms and formwork as required.
  • Perform wood and metal framing.
  • Install blocking, backing, plywood, sheathing, trim, and related materials.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, saws, levels, lasers, and other carpentry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Verify work for proper alignment, level, plumb, and dimensions.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
  • Identify and correct workmanship or installation issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company, jobsite, and OSHA safety requirements
    .
  • Assist with additional construction duties as needed.
Required Skills
  • Previous experience in commercial concrete construction and/or carpentry preferred.
  • Ability to read tape measures and basic construction drawings.
  • Experience with concrete form systems (wood, Symons, Doka, Peri, EFCO, or similar) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of concrete placement and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when project schedules require.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts when required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods.
Work Environment
  • Commercial construction sites.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, concrete materials, and changing weather conditions.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toe boots.
