Job Description
Blake Gendebien is searching for applicants for a highly competitive House race. As the Staff Assistant, you will need to be highly organized with great attention to detail, able to exercise discretion, anticipate changes and reprioritize as needed, and work well in a fast-paced environment. This role requires collaboration with the Campaign Manager, Finance Director, Organizing Director, and Communications Director on scheduling, event logistics, and other operational tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Campaign Manager, Finance Director, Communications Director, and Organizing Director to ensure the daily and long term schedules are reflective of campaign priorities
- Organize, vet, and respond to incoming meeting request and invitations
- Manage daily and long-term calendar and logistics
- Handle travel arrangements for the candidate and staff
- Support the coordination and logistics of large-scale events; including briefings, staffing assignments, and other details
- Assist with the operational needs of the campaign; including office management and other administrative tasks as needed
- Occasional travel with the candidate throughout New York's 21st congressional district, and other local travel
- Other duties as the campaign develops
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in scheduling, operations, event management, or logistics
- Excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Calendar and Microsoft Office suite
- Willingness to work long hours as the campaign progresses
- A valid US driver's license, and access to reliable, insured transportation.
- Ties to Northern New York are a plus
