Scope Of PositionAdvanced Optics' Engineering Excellence's mission is for all plant and division engineers to deliver consistent and effective processes for established and new products, improvements based on root cause understanding, and leading practice cost understanding and digital leadership to achieve business goals. Competencies include process stability and improvement (data literacy, Process Control and Process Discipline, Kepner-Tregoe Problem Solving and Decision Making, Lean, DMAIC / Six Sigma, applying the scientific method to identify fundamental understanding, DESGN / DMADV, and Product Quality Architecture), digital manufacturing, engineering finance, project management, future business, communications, and sustainability.
The Engineering Excellence Lead will support overall AO Engineering Excellence deployment, be responsible for partnering with Finance to further deploy engineering finance, and partner with plant and division engineers to develop and deploy additional Engineering Excellence competencies based on their experiences
Partner with the plants to implement Net Cost Reductions, including reports, progress, and developing multi-year cost reduction portfolios Build on their skills and experiences by being responsible for another Engineering Excellence key area or competencies Facilitate and coach Engineering Excellence competencies to support plant and division engineers to solve critical technical problems Support overall AO Engineering Excellence deployment
Education & ExperienceWe require a bachelor's degree in an engineering or science field with Mechanical, Materials, Optics, Chemical, or Industrial engineering preferred Demonstrated ability to facilitate and apply multiple AO Engineering Excellence competencies in various scenarios Minimum of 7 years of experience applying Engineering Excellence methodologies to improve processes, deliver new products, and / or expand process knowledge The successful candidate will have multiple years of experience in plant engineering role(s) Experience working across diverse business environments and collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams
Soft SkillsMust have a strong instinct to act, be self-motivated, and demonstrate the ability to make well-informed decisions Proven ability to influence teams and stakeholders, both with and without direct authority Exceptional collaboration skills to work effectively across multiple locations and teams to achieve goals Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously Must be an effective communicator (written and verbal) with proficiency in presenting complex technical concepts clearly Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and attentional to detail
Travel RequirementsPotential for up to 25% travel for this role Travel will be to support the division's plant and division engineering teams Hours of work Mostly 8am to 5pm Eastern with flexibility to support global organization This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
