Title: Buyer

Department: Purchasing

Reports To: Purchasing Manager

Classification: Exempt

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with department leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable solutions
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Prepare and process purchase
  • Ensures purchase order accuracy
  • Resolve issues with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Performs other duties assigned

Specific Qualifications Required Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Understanding of business and management principles
  • Understanding of material and supplies used in the company
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAGE software.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field preferred
  • Two years’ experience in purchasing
  • Manufacturing environment preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Technibus offers standing desk options to combat prolonged sitting
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
