Plain Local School District, Canton, Ohio, is seeking an Assistant Principal for Glen Oak High School.

We are looking for an Assistant Principal who will support the Principal and the school community in delivering high-quality instruction, managing student behavior, and leading staff toward continuous improvement. The successful candidate will embody the district’s commitment to equity, inclusivity, and academic excellence.

• Assist in developing and implementing the school’s instructional vision and goals.
• Support staff in instructional planning, assessment, and professional growth.
• Oversee student behavior management and promote a safe, positive learning environment.
• Analyze student achievement data to inform decisions and interventions.
• Represent the school throughout the Plain community and maintain visible presence on campus.
• Collaborate with district leadership to align school practices with Ohio Learning Standards.
• Attend and lead planning and professional development meetings.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for reporting and compliance.
• Assist in the supervision of school employees, including staffing and performance evaluations.

• Possess excellent listening, organizational, and communication skills.
• Articulate a clear vision for district and building goals.
• Demonstrate the ability to inspire continuous improvement and lead by example.
• Show understanding of fairness, consistency, and trust.
• Demonstrate skills in building collaborative, high‑performing teams.
• Be visible and willing to participate in the Plain community.
• Recognize the role of culture and tradition within the Plain community.
• Occupy qualities of a leader who earns followers’ respect.
• Provide examples of data analysis to support decision making.
• Understand Ohio Learning Standards.
• MUST possess or be eligible for an Ohio Principal’s license.

Salary for this position will be based on the Board adopted salary schedule for Administrators.
