I. University Overview

III. Job Summary

Oversee the administration and distribution of federal, state, and institutional funding, including grants and scholarships, for Malone University students. Establish and maintain comprehensive financial aid protocols while ensuring strict regulatory compliance across all aid processing. Direct the monitoring of aid accounts and lead the creation and implementation of strategic policies for financial aid programs. Manage the recruitment and supervision of departmental staff, including defining roles, evaluating performance, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Resolve personnel matters and provide necessary resources and training to ensure operational excellence. Coordinate all engagements with internal and external auditors, serving as a primary liaison to the U.S. Department of Education and the Ohio Board of Higher Education.

IV. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Mission Alignment and Representation
  • Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision, and identity of Malone University, both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with university values.
Staff Leadership and Operations
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate office staff while providing backup support for all responsibilities.
  • Update and maintain the office’s policy manual, website, and Net Price Calculator.
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, overseeing financial aid operations and systems.
Student Services and Counseling
  • Take appointments with students and parents, offering financial counseling and workshops.
  • Package financial aid for new and returning students, including adjustments for changes in enrollment, residency, and employment status.
  • Process withdrawals, refunds, and aid revisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Student Aid, NCAA, and institutional policies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulation changes.
