Position
General Education Licensure and/or Intervention Specialist (grades K-12, mild to moderate, Special Education)
OverviewChild & Adolescent Behavioral Health is hiring a full‑time Intervention Specialist to help children, youth, and families succeed in life’s challenges.
Responsibilities- Provide academic instruction to youth with severe emotional and behavioral disturbances, focusing on developing pro‑social and self‑regulation skills.
- Plan and implement a program of study, including administering standardized tests, that meets individual learner needs in alignment with Ohio’s Learning Standards.
- Collaborate effectively with mental/behavioral health staff as part of a multi‑disciplinary treatment team.
- Assess, monitor, and record academic/IEP progress; maintain data and records.
- Work with other educators to plan, write, coordinate, and implement the IEP and transition plan to a less restrictive setting.
- Make provisions to be available to parents and Special Education Directors for educational and behavioral related purposes.
- Implement the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Behavior Management Philosophy and intervention continuum, including behavior management in classroom/program settings, supporting and intervening with youth who are emotionally/behaviorally deregulated, providing verbal de‑escalation, behavioral coaching, rehearsal, problem‑solving, and self‑regulation skill development.
- Positively contribute to the individual classroom and overall program therapeutic milieu.
- Maintain well‑developed verbal, listening, and written communication skills; effectively use technology for reports and class; demonstrate fairness, trustworthiness, and high organization; and foster therapeutic alliances with youth from culturally diverse populations.
- Preferred licensed teacher, working toward Intervention Specialist certification or possessing IS certification.
- Must have a BA and can obtain a substitute license.
Position is at the Canton/Shipley Office in Stark County.
Compensation$37,500 – $39,500 based on credentials and experience.
HoursMonday‑Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
