Academic Lead Teacher
$20.00-$25.00/hr for up to 15 hours per week
The Academic Lead Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality academic instruction within the after school program while creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for students. This role includes developing and implementing meaningful lessons and enrichment activities that support student growth, academic achievement, and overall engagement. The Lead Academic Teacher works to ensure program success and maintain consistent communication regarding student progress and needs.
B.A. in Education and certified teaching license in the appropriate grade band (Reading Endorsement and/or M.A. in Reading preferred, but not required)

Ability to collaborate with teachers and administration to ensure clear communication and shared understanding
Experience in interpreting and analyzing data
Ensure a safe, structured, positive, and high-quality learning environment for all students
Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to develop and maintain a structured daily after school schedule that includes intentional lesson planning designed to inspire, motivate, and engage students
Plan, support and schedule engaging academic, enrichment, and recreational activities that provide students with diverse and meaningful learning experiences; use provided pacing guides
Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with the Site Coordinator regarding building budget needs, expenditures, and resource allocation to support effective program operations
Complete instructional pacing guides prior to each quarter to ensure intentional planning and alignment of instruction
Utilize informal assessment strategies, such as checklists, exit tickets, observations, and interviews, to monitor and support student growth
Coordinate with the Site Coordinator to communicate instructional needs and order necessary materials and supplies
Secure and collaborate with instructional guests, community organizations, and outside partners to enhance programming and provide engaging learning opportunities
Support the integration of enrichment, project-based learning, and hands-on instructional experiences into daily programming
Intentionally build relationships and maintain ongoing communication with staff, parents, school administration, the Program Manager, and community partners
Assist in planning and facilitating quarterly family engagement activities and events that strengthen school and community connections
Attend all required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Maintain knowledge of and enforce all district policies, procedures, and SACC licensing standards
Collect, verify, and submit accurate bi-weekly timesheets to the Site Coordinator
Provide instructional coaching and ongoing support to teachers to strengthen classroom instruction and student engagement
Assist teachers with lesson planning, curriculum alignment, pacing, and implementation of instructional best practices
Model effective instructional strategies and co-teaching lessons when appropriate
Support instructional quality and ensuring alignment with district standards, program goals, and grant requirements
