As an Engineering Co‑op at Canton Drop Forge, you will work closely with our engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and production optimization initiatives. This hands‑on role will provide you with valuable experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to real‑world challenges.

• Process Improvement: Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Time and Motion Studies: Conduct time and motion studies to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce cycle times.
• Lean Manufacturing: Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices, including 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Equipment Layout and Design: Assist in the design and optimization of equipment layouts to improve workflow and reduce bottlenecks.
• Project Support: Participate in cross‑functional teams to support various engineering and production projects, including new product development and process optimization initiatives.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all process improvements and engineering activities comply with safety standards and regulations.

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
