Reality capture translates physical environments into high-fidelity digital representations, enabling data-driven decisions across design, construction, and operations.
As an Associate Reality Capture Specialist, you will support end-to-end 3D documentation from on-site data collection through point cloud deliverables. You will work with the project team to capture, organize, and QA data, support processing, and deliver a strong client experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Understand project scope, objectives, and site constraints
- Prepare travel and equipment; arrive on-site ready to execute
- Participate in client walkthroughs to confirm scope, access, and conditions
- Capture scan, photo, and video data to meet scope and quality standards
- Organize, document, and transfer datasets to ensure completeness and traceability
- Support registration, QA/QC, and basic post-processing
- Coordinate with the team and provide professional on‑site client support
- Run field capture days safely and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Deliver complete, well‑organized datasets that meet naming, storage, and transfer standards
- Identify data gaps early and support registration and QA/QC workflows
- Communicate clearly with clients and the project team and follow through on actions
- Hands‑on experience with 3D laser scanning, LiDAR, and point cloud workflows
- Exposure to a wide range of sites and project types
- A growth path into advanced technical or project leadership roles
- Education:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Geomatics, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience) - Experience:
0–3 years of experience with survey equipment (TLS or SLAM) a plus;
Internship and hands‑on field experience are a plus - Travel: 75%+ travel required
- Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage time across travel and field work
- Comfortable working with large datasets and technical workflows
- Clear, professional communication with clients and internal teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with IVION and Prevu3D a plus
- Familiarity with FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, or similar tools; basic LiDAR/coordinate system concepts
- Customer‑focused with a professional demeanor
- Reliable, adaptable, and accountable
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Frequent travel to industrial and commercial client sites
- Highly flexible and open to working a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and changing schedules
- Ability to walk active job sites, navigate varying terrain, and lift/carry equipment (up to ~50 lbs)
- Willingness to work in varying weather and site conditions while following safety requirements
