Position: Director of Civil Engineering - Land Development. Job in Canton Lily Lifestyle Jobs

GAI Consultants is seeking a dynamic and driven leader to join our expanding civil engineering practice. This role is pivotal as we cater to both private and public projects, engaging in a variety of developments including master planned projects, residential areas, commercial spaces, and municipal initiatives. The successful candidate will spearhead multi-disciplined infrastructure projects and play a key role in client management and business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales and manage relationships with existing and new strategic clients.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to advance GAI's multi-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Guide technical and proposal teams in crafting responses for cost proposals, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Partner with project managers to create comprehensive project management plans, ensuring budget and schedule adherence while enhancing client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Support contract negotiations and execution.
  • Contribute to annual strategic planning and market positioning for the company.
  • Elevate GAI's community profile through active involvement in leadership roles within professional organizations.
  • Assist in plan preparation and compliance with project scopes and schedules.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of municipal processes and agency requirements.
  • Provide regular updates on backlog and manpower reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in Civil Engineering, including at least 5 years in the local market preferred.
  • Must possess a Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Indiana or be able to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in sales and client engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of civil drainage, grading, and utility systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.

Experience Requirements
  • 15+ years of professional experience.
Educational Background
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, with a Master’s Degree preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Serve as a consultant across various project areas, addressing innovative aspects.
  • Ensure sustainable performance in complex engineering projects from a systems perspective.
Project Management
  • Critique project management plans and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assess team effectiveness in executing projects.
Leadership Duties
  • Lead essential projects crucial to organizational objectives.
  • Formulate strategies for staff development through mentoring and professional growth.
  • Promote a culture of professional excellence within the practice.
Communication and Representation
  • Negotiate significant issues with leaders across practices.
  • Represent the practice at key functions and industry conferences.
