Compassionate Hospice CNA - Day Shifts

Full-Time We are looking for a dependable CNA to join our Hospice team. Absolute Hospice, Inc. provides hospice services wherever the patient calls home. This position will be a dedicated, full-time schedule caring for our hospice patients, Monday-Friday, day shifts only.

• Certified and licensed CNA courses.
• High‑school level coursework in English grammar, composition and mathematics.
• One year of experience providing patient care in a hospital, nursing facility or similar environment.
• Current CNA license and demonstration of competency in direct patient care during a probationary period.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with a safe driving record and proof of insurance.

• Perform personal care needs after being assigned a patient and attending to his/her requests promptly.
• Provide patients and families with positive communication techniques, within ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.
• Provide personal care such as baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linens as assigned.
• Assist in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Assist in feeding the patient as assigned.
Take and record oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Provide proper care and observation of patient’s skin to prevent tissue breakdown over bony prominences.
• Assess and report on patient’s condition and significant changes to the Case Manager; aware of caregiver or other individuals living with the patient and interpersonal issues.
• Assist in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Offer and assist with bedpans and urinals; provide assistance with light laundry needs.
• Provide respite for patient/family/caregiver when on‑site, as appropriate.
