Market Client Relationship Manager (MCRM)
This position reports to the Division Client Relationship Executive (DCRE) and the Merrill Wealth Management Market Executive (ME). The MCRM leads the service delivery model and wealth management banking strategy for their market, partnering with market leadership, resident directors, financial advisors, and client associates to deliver a high‑quality client service model focused on digital solutions, while driving responsible growth and minimizing risks.
Responsibilities- Lead the service delivery model and wealth management banking strategy of the respective markets to drive business growth
- Hire, develop, and lead a team of cross‑functional professionals to support advisor teams and deliver outstanding client service
- Supervise financial transactions and operations to drive risk‑management best practices and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and prepare for branch audits
- Oversee the client service experience and review approval of new client accounts
- Lead Wealth Management Client Associates and the branch Operations Department to meet and exceed the bank’s client‑service expectations and operational excellence goals
- Process & Data Manager – demonstrate deep process knowledge, operational excellence and innovation through simplicity, data‑based decision‑making, and continuous improvement
- Enterprise Advocate & Communicator – communicate enterprise decisions, purpose and results, and connect to team strategy, priorities and contributions
- Risk Manager – ensure proper risk discipline, controls and culture are in place to identify, elevate and debate issues
- People Manager & Coach – provide inspection, coaching and feedback to motivate, differentiate and improve performance
- Financial Steward – actively manage expenses and budgets in alignment with objectives, making sound financial decisions
- Enterprise Talent Leader – assess talent and build bench strength for roles across the organization
- Driver of Business Outcomes – deliver results by prioritizing, inspecting and appropriately delegating team work
- Ensure client‑service expectations are met and exceeded while balancing the risk and exposure for Merrill
- Manage the branch’s Wealth Management Client Associates and Service Support Staff
- Represent the office and Merrill with clients, prospects, financial advisor recruits, vendors, regulators and outside counsel
- Apply experience with Merrill products & services, trend analysis, risk assessment, HR and industry knowledge to diversify the role
- Coach teams to deliver a modern, digital‑first service model focused on client satisfaction
- Proactively identify opportunities to connect financial advisors and clients to the broader enterprise
- Manage daily operations ensuring compliance with industry regulations, policies and procedures
- Currently hold SIE, Series 7 AND Series 66 (or Series 63 AND Series 65), Series 9 AND Series 10 (or Series
8) or equivalent licenses and Series 3, 31 licenses if warranted - Minimum of 5 + years professional experience
- Current or previous Merrill Wealth Management experience strongly preferred
- Self‑motivated and client‑centric
- Expert knowledge of regulatory and supervisory requirements and corporate policies and procedures
- Investment product knowledge (401 k, options, annuities, tax, retirement plans, money funds, mutual funds, liabilities, margin, trust operations, etc.)
- Prior trend‑analysis experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong management skills, including the ability to effectively plan, monitor, influence, negotiate, supervise and delegate
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
